Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2: New Corridors and Surat Metro Update
MEGA has announced Phase 2 of Ahmedabad Metro while Surat Metro construction picks up pace.
Gujarat's metro expansion is accelerating with MEGA announcing Phase 2 of the Ahmedabad Metro while construction on Surat Metro gains momentum.
Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 details:
•New corridors covering Motera (Gujarat Cricket Stadium), GIFT City, and Sarkhej
•Total Phase 2 length: 28.26 km
•Expected completion: 2027–28
Surat Metro:
•Total length: 40.35 km across 2 corridors
•Corridors: Sarthana to Dream City; Bhesan to Saroli
•38 stations planned
•Currently under civil construction
•Expected opening: 2027–28
Both Ahmedabad and Surat are seeing rapid urbanization, and metro connectivity is expected to reduce road traffic congestion significantly in both cities.
